A romantic weekend at Marlow House Bed and Breakfast turns deadly when Earthbound Spirits founder, Peter Morris, is murdered. Plenty of people had a reason to want the man dead—especially Danielle’s current guests.

But it isn’t Morris’ ghost distracting Danielle on this deadly Valentine’s Day weekend, it’s her late husband Lucas. She has her hands full with suitors coming from all directions—both living and dead—while she tries to figure out if there’s a killer in Marlow House.

The Ghost of Valentine Past Haunting Danielle Book 7 edition by Bobbi Holmes Anna J McIntyre Elizabeth Mackey Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

The Ghost of Valentine Past is a fun read... a nice, simple cozy mystery with ghosts (and those who can see them). It is a lite read... but good. While this is a stand alone book and readers will not be lost reading it without reading the preceding books, it is better if one has at least read the lat book, if not them all.

The main character are decently evolved, the story line interesting, the mystery of who the killer was is well done. It leaves you guessing until towards the end.

There is a murder in Danielle's B&B and a lot of suspects (the guy murdered was not a well like man). The main portion of the book is about the murder but there is more. For one, Danielle's husband's ghost finally shows up and she needs to deal with him, plus the possibility of a romance for her is in the works. We get to know a little more about the characters...

Enjoyable book, and with each in the series, while the main story is about the mystery, we keep getting a little more about the characters and their relationships. If you like cozy mysteries with a touch of paranormal, then check out this book (or actually whole series)

The Ghost of Valentine Past Haunting Danielle Book 7 edition by Bobbi Holmes Anna J McIntyre Elizabeth Mackey Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

Bobbi Holmes is truly a gifted author. I love getting lost in her world of words. Just finished the 7th book and I only started reading them about ten days ago. I love a book I can't put down. This is even better, being a whole series!!! I'm sick with pneumonia right now, so I'm very grateful for the escape.
I love everyone of these books the stories need to be read in order to build on the series but each book ends with A finished story no cliff hangers. But the story builds and builds where you become attached to the original characters, Danielle, Walt the house ghost, lily and Ian. It's like a tv series . I plan on reading them all. On to #8.
What happens when a man is murdered in your house? Add in that all of your guests had reason to kill the man. Top it all off with an unexpected visit from your husband...whose dead! Danielle is up to her ears in ghosts, including her cheating husband. How is she going to solve this mystery, but even more to the point, How will Walt react to Danielle's husband's arrival?
I love a mystery that is much more than one dimensional. And we get it in these Haunting Danielle books. A lot goes on but it all flows well. Glad to see Chris again in this book! And I am glad how things worked out with Joe. He is not one of my fav characters, so I hope things will change up a bit with him. I am liking how Brian is turning out. I guess I am really invested in these characters.
I have followed this series from Danielle's first look at her inherited mansion to this, the latest of her unfortunate adventures, and have loved every chapter of them. The characters are well-developed, the scenes vivdly described without being tedious, and the plots are clever and intriguing. I am an avid reader of mysteries and usually solve them (at least partially) by the time I am half way through a novel, but most of Danielle's case outcomes have caught me totally off guard. Her interactions with the resident ghost - who only she and very few others can see - are portrayed in a way that makes the existence of ghost possible ... perhaps even logical. Each book of this series is a stand-alone, and can be read out of order. I HIGHLY recommend the Haunting Danielle series to anyone who enjoys reading mysteries, getting involved with connectable characters, and entertaining the thought of supernatural possibilities!
Danielle finally gets rid of Joe but still has too many men in her life! Walt and Chris have the weirdest budding bromance brewing. And dearly departed husband Lucas manages to sneak into things, too.

The mystery was good. I loved the characters.

Needs more kitteh. Bella the kitten was around but we barely saw her. At least Max played an important part of things as usual. Sadie was funny as always. I laughed when she tried to be a lap dog and crushed Danielle. I'm assuming as I'm writing this review that I'm writing for fellow fans of the series who know what I'm taking about.

I just wish the author knew that "grizzly" is for bears and "grisly" is for gruesome murders. I kept giggling whenever she described a scene as "grizzly".

I really enjoyed this story, but I worry Walt isn't going to stand a chance against Chris and it's going to be painful for him to continue to stick around. I don't know why I can't warm up more to Chris, despite imagining Chris Hemsworth as this Chris. I still prefer the Chief, if Danielle has to end up with a human love. I guess because the Chief could have faith in Danielle when nobody else did and without experiencing ghostly visits himself. But he has Carol Ann and two boys so that's not going to happen.

I advise reading all the books in the series in order or you will be so lost. This is a book for fans rather than casual reviewers.
How many dates could Dani have on Valentine's Day? How many of those would be with a living man? At least half of them are ghosts. When Danielle's late husband's ghost shows up in Fredrickport just before Valentine's Day she is not overjoyed to see him there. After all he was in a car with his lover when he was killed. And she is already dealing with a murder in her parlor on Friday the 13th. Who committed the murder? Was it one of her guests or one of her friends? All these questions and more will be answered in this, the seventh book in the Haunting Danielle series. Ms Holmes is an amazing storyteller. Her characters are believable and sympathetic. The setting of Frederickport, Oregon is described so perfectly that in your mind you can imagine walking down the street and seeing all the sights. I luv the characters, Dani, Lily, Walt, Even the animals, Sadie and. Max are believable. I highly recommend this book to readers of ages.
